Thank you for the amazing first 73 hours of the crowdfunding, full of emotions, happiness and feeling of community, finished with gathering of 102% of the goal amount. You are absolutely terrific, folks!
We are grateful to you for giving us the comfort of peaceful minds for the time of completing the release.
The crowdfunding has been envisaged for 28 days, thus it will last until 18th of November. If you would like to make yourself or someone close to you such present, we encourage you to pre-order our album - it will definitely get to you before Christmas.
Is it still worth to support us, once we have reached the goal? Yes! 8000 PLN is the basic variant that lets us release only 500 copies of the album. Your further support is a chance for reaching bolder plans connected to the "DO" album:
The goal of the crowdfunding is to publish “DO” which is both the first album of Balsam band and the first Balfolk CD in Poland. We are very close to reaching our dream. 13 tracks have been recorded in The Tone Nation Studio with the help of our friend, professional sound engineer Szymon Białek. Szymon is also going to handle mixing and mastering of the album. Work is in progress! We ourselves are creating the graphic design for the CD, and as part of the crowdfunding action some of the first original pictures created during the process are ready to go to your homes!
We are going the extra mile to make “DO” attractive both music-wise and visually but we cannot do everything by ourselves. Therefore, we have decided to ask all of you for help in this crowdfunding project. We hope that together we can finance the key stages of publishing:
mixing and mastering of the recordings
printing 500 copies of the album
securing copyrights
promotion, including fee and other costs of the crowdfunding

The album “DO” consists of 13 tracks composed by us; 6 of them include our original lyrics in Polish. 12 pieces are various dances originating from different parts of Europe – this is in fact what we call BalFolk! Our album comprises all kinds of dance forms: couple dances (like mazurka or scottisch), chain dances (hanter-dro), and popular couple dances with progression (chapelloise). The pieces themselves are varied: there is an energetic bourrée and Bal Limousine, but also romantic waltzes.
You can dance to our CD, but also listen to the music at home. People who already know our music tend to associate our songs with sung poetry – it is universal music which can function without the context of dance.
We put our hearts, plenty of work and money in this project. What’s the effect? A perfect Balsam mixture really worth trying out. DO dance, DO listen! ;-)

We all compose melodies and Ewa writes lyrics as well. However, the main strength of our group is shared musical sensibility, despite our individual views on music.
We are happy when our compositions become alive on stage and ephemeral sounds materialise in dance, movement, and emotions of the dancers. Thanks to the album, this musical magic can gain the power to enchant you in any place and time, wherever you take it with you. Music isn’t created just for music sake, but to be shared - this is why we are releasing the album! :)
As part of the crowdfunding we are offering you, above all, a chance to pre-order our album. By purchasing “DO”, you become a co-producer of the first Polish BalFolk album! Additionally, we have prepared gifts and packages for you – we hope they catch your interest. Among them there are musical tutorials, aforementioned pictures, and even a possibility of a private concert by Balsam. Photos of the pictures and details about them can be found at the bottom of this page.
One of our favourite packages is the CD in a collector’s wrapping, hand-made of wool by Michał’s Mom. Each of them fits our album like a glove and is one of a kind.

We encourage you to support us by ordering pictures made by Ewa with tempera paint. The images have been created as part of preparation for album’s graphical design. The works will be presented during an exhibition titled “The key of green”, which will accompany the promotion of the album. The exhibition begins mid January 2020 and ends mid April 2020, and will take place in the Exhibtions and Education Centre of the AMU Botanical Garden in Poznań. Pictures purchased during the crowdfunding will be delivered to you after the exhibition. Each picture will be provided with a title, a signature and a dedication. All the pictures were made on white paper 80g and are backed with 190g Murillo paper in one of the colours: dark green (Verdone) or light green (Olive). Frames not included.
